Remi Tinubu to Nigerian Youth: Embrace Contentment, Shun Beggarly Mindset

Nigeria's First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, has urged young Nigerians to embrace contentment, patience and hard work, cautioning them against cultivating what she described as a "beggarly mindset" in their pursuit of success.


She gave the advice on Friday while receiving the leadership of the All Progressives Congress (APC) National Youth Wing at the Presidential Villa, Abuja, where she also donated nine buses to support the youth wing's mobilisation and outreach activities.


Speaking during the event, the First Lady encouraged youths to avoid the temptation of seeking quick wealth or comparing themselves with others, stressing that genuine success comes through perseverance, discipline and faith in God.


"God always knows our needs, and that is what the young people do not know. They are always in a hurry. I am teaching you how to learn contentment and not be beggarly," she said.


Using the eagle as an example, Senator Tinubu urged young people to develop resilience and determination, noting that the bird rises above storms rather than fleeing from them. She encouraged them to chart their own paths instead of envying the achievements of others.


The First Lady also commended the APC National Youth Wing for its commitment to strengthening the ruling party across the country and charged the leaders to continue promoting the achievements of President Bola Tinubu's Renewed Hope Agenda.


As part of her support for the youth wing, she presented nine buses to the APC National Youth Leader, Deputy National Youth Leader, zonal youth leaders and the Federal Capital Territory youth leadership to enhance mobilisation and grassroots engagement.


Responding on behalf of the beneficiaries, APC National Youth Leader Dayo Israel thanked the First Lady for the donation, describing it as a significant boost to the youth wing's activities and reaffirming the group's commitment to advancing the Renewed Hope Agenda nationwide.

Accord Shocks APC, Wins Omisore’s Polling Unit in Osun Governorship Election

Results uploaded to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) Result Viewing Portal (IReV) showed that Accord secured 131 votes at Polling Unit 003, Ife Ward 1 (Moore), St. Gabriel Primary School, in Ife East Local Government Area. The APC placed second with 85 votes, while the African Democratic Congress (ADC) polled 10 votes. Other political parties recorded only a few votes at the polling unit.
