2027: Yari Declares Tinubu Sure Winner, Says APC Will Rule Nigeria Beyond 2031

The Director-General of the All Progressives Congress Presidential Campaign Council, Senator Abdulaziz Abubakar Yari, has expressed confidence that President Bola Tinubu will win the 2027 presidential election.


Yari also said the APC would retain power beyond Tinubu’s second term, expressing optimism that the party would continue to govern Nigeria after 2031.


The former Zamfara State governor made the remarks on Monday, August 24, 2026, while addressing APC supporters at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja after returning from an overseas trip.


Yari attributed his confidence in Tinubu’s re-election to what he described as the administration’s reform achievements over the past three years. He assured Nigerians that the APC would fulfil promises made during the election campaign.


“By God’s grace, he shall be the president come 2027,” Yari said, adding that the party would continue to work towards delivering on its campaign promises.


He further prayed for wisdom for President Tinubu to lead the country and expressed hope that the APC would remain Nigeria’s governing party after the President’s second term.


Yari’s comments followed the formal unveiling of the APC Presidential Campaign Council, with President Tinubu serving as chairman and Vice President Kashim Shettima as vice chairman.


The campaign council is expected to inaugurate its sub-committees and commence political consultations across Nigeria’s six geopolitical zones in the coming weeks.

Accord Shocks APC, Wins Omisore’s Polling Unit in Osun Governorship Election

Results uploaded to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) Result Viewing Portal (IReV) showed that Accord secured 131 votes at Polling Unit 003, Ife Ward 1 (Moore), St. Gabriel Primary School, in Ife East Local Government Area. The APC placed second with 85 votes, while the African Democratic Congress (ADC) polled 10 votes. Other political parties recorded only a few votes at the polling unit.
