Adeleke Approves Fresh Palliative Payments for Osun Workers, Pensioners

 Osun State Governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke, has announced the disbursement of another round of palliative payments to civil servants and pensioners in the state as part of his administration's efforts to cushion the effects of prevailing economic hardship.


In a statement issued on Wednesday, the governor said the latest payment underscores his administration's unwavering commitment to the welfare of workers and retirees, stressing that improving their living conditions remains a top priority.


Adeleke recalled that shortly after assuming office, his administration introduced periodic palliative payments to workers, even before the implementation of the new national minimum wage, describing Osun as one of the first states in the country to adopt such a proactive welfare measure.


According to him, the initiative reflects his government's people-centred approach to governance and its determination to support workers and pensioners amid current economic challenges.


The governor also drew a contrast between his administration and the previous government, alleging that the past administration neglected workers' welfare and subjected civil servants to hardship. He maintained that his government is committed to ensuring that every worker and pensioner receives the dignity, support and recognition they deserve.


"Our administration has once again disbursed another round of palliative payments to ease the impact of the current economic realities on workers and pensioners in Osun State," Adeleke said.


He assured civil servants and retirees that his government would continue to place their welfare at the centre of governance, noting that a motivated workforce is critical to sustainable development and shared prosperity.


The governor reiterated his administration's resolve to sustain policies and programmes that improve the welfare of public servants, saying their dedication remains essential to the continued growth and development of Osun State.

Accord Shocks APC, Wins Omisore’s Polling Unit in Osun Governorship Election

Results uploaded to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) Result Viewing Portal (IReV) showed that Accord secured 131 votes at Polling Unit 003, Ife Ward 1 (Moore), St. Gabriel Primary School, in Ife East Local Government Area. The APC placed second with 85 votes, while the African Democratic Congress (ADC) polled 10 votes. Other political parties recorded only a few votes at the polling unit.
