Adeleke: I Had No Electoral Deal With ADC Before, During, After Election

Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, has denied entering into any electoral deal or political partnership with the African Democratic Congress (ADC) before, during or after the August 15 governorship election.

Adeleke, who secured re-election in the keenly contested poll, said the victory was made possible by God Almighty and the overwhelming support of the people of Osun State.

The governor, in a statement issued after the election, said it was necessary to set the record straight regarding the political alliances that supported his campaign ahead of the election.

“For the sake of history, it is important to clarify that the ADC was never part of the rainbow coalition that canvassed, mobilised, and supported our campaign in the battle leading to last Saturday’s election,” Adeleke said.

He attributed the success of his campaign to the sacrifices and commitment of political partners who worked across the state to mobilise support for his re-election bid.

Adeleke commended the political allies and supporters who, according to him, “sacrificed, worked tirelessly, and went all out” to secure victory at the polls.

He described their contributions as instrumental to the outcome of the election, saying the victory should be regarded as a triumph for the people of Osun State.

The governor further declared that, with the election concluded, his administration would focus on governing the entire state without discrimination based on political affiliation, religion or ethnic background.

“Now that the election is over, I remain the Governor of all Osun people, irrespective of political affiliation, religion, or tribe,” he said.

Adeleke reaffirmed his commitment to promoting unity and pursuing policies aimed at improving the welfare and prosperity of the people of the state.

He added that his administration would continue working towards the progress and development of Osun State as he begins another term in office.
