Aiyedatiwa Approves Fresh Appointments, Names Commissioner, 3 Advisers, 1,000 Assistants

Ondo State Governor, Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, has approved a fresh round of appointments involving one commissioner, three special advisers, 90 senior special assistants and 910 special assistants as part of efforts to strengthen governance and improve service delivery across the state.


The appointments were announced in a statement issued by the governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Prince Ebenezer Adeniyan, on Thursday.


Aiyedatiwa nominated Erelu Taibat Oloruntoba from Akoko North-West Local Government Area as Commissioner for Special Duties. Her nomination has been forwarded to the Ondo State House of Assembly for screening and confirmation.


The governor also appointed three special advisers: Hon. Abimbola Fajolu as Special Adviser on Environment; Chief Ade Adeniyi as Special Adviser on Rural and Community Development; and Mr Muyiwa Ogunyemi as Special Adviser on Transport.


Among the newly appointed senior special assistants are Erelu Toyin Ogungbure for Women Mobilisation, South; Bidemi Obayangbon for Forestry; Gboluge Olufunmi Alex for Community Engagement, South; Hon. Akin Adeniyi for Community Engagement, Central; and Obayan Theophilus Ayodeji for Community Engagement, North.


Others include Kelvin Solomon, Students Affairs; Adeolu Iwakun, Volunteer Services; Samson Job Bazuaye, Oil and Gas; Fade Ojamomi, Youth Empowerment and Job Creation; Sam Adepoju, Public Engagement; and Alhaji Samad Orijeminiyi, Scholarship.


The state government said the full list of the 90 Senior Special Assistants and 910 Special Assistants would be made public in due course.


According to the statement, all the appointments take immediate effect, while the commissioner-designate will assume office subject to screening and confirmation by the State House of Assembly.


The latest appointments bring another significant expansion to the governor’s administrative team as the Aiyedatiwa administration seeks to strengthen its presence across various sectors and communities in Ondo State.

Accord Shocks APC, Wins Omisore’s Polling Unit in Osun Governorship Election

  By Abdulahi Musa  The Accord Party has won the governorship election at the polling unit of former Osun Deputy Governor and ex-National Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Senator Iyiola Omisore. Results uploaded to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) Result Viewing Portal (IReV) showed that Accord secured 131 votes at Polling Unit 003, Ife Ward 1 (Moore), St. Gabriel Primary School, in Ife East Local Government Area. The APC placed second with 85 votes, while the African Democratic Congress (ADC) polled 10 votes. Other political parties recorded only a few votes at the polling unit.
