Fadahunsi Leaves Police HQ After Questioning Over Controversial ‘Kill’ Comment

 Senator Francis Fadahunsi, representing Osun East Senatorial District, has left the Osun State Police Command headquarters in Osogbo after hours of questioning over alleged inciting comments made during a campaign rally.


Fadahunsi had honoured a police invitation on Wednesday and reported to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) following the circulation of a campaign video from an All Progressives Congress rally in Ilesa.


In the video, the senator was allegedly heard making remarks in Yoruba that were interpreted as urging his supporters to “kill” members of the rival Accord Party. The comments attracted police attention amid heightened political tension ahead of the Osun State governorship election scheduled for Saturday, August 15.


The Osun State Police Command had directed Fadahunsi to appear before the SCID, describing the alleged remarks as threatening, inciting and capable of heightening tension ahead of the election.


After spending several hours at the police headquarters, Fadahunsi was seen leaving the facility alongside members of his entourage in a video shared by News Central.


However, details of the questions asked during the interrogation remained unclear as of the time of filing the report. Neither the senator nor the police had issued an official statement on the outcome of the questioning.


The development comes against the backdrop of heightened political activities and concerns over possible violence ahead of Saturday’s governorship poll, with security agencies on alert across the state.

Accord Shocks APC, Wins Omisore’s Polling Unit in Osun Governorship Election

Results uploaded to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) Result Viewing Portal (IReV) showed that Accord secured 131 votes at Polling Unit 003, Ife Ward 1 (Moore), St. Gabriel Primary School, in Ife East Local Government Area.
