Obokun LG Chairman Thanks Residents for Support as Adeleke Secures Re-election

The Executive Chairman of Obokun Local Government, Hon. Pastor Francis Olajiire Agboola, CNA, has expressed appreciation to the people of the local government for their support and solidarity during the 2026 Osun State governorship election, which culminated in the re-election of Governor Ademola Nurudeen Jackson Adeleke.


Agboola described Adeleke’s victory as a collective achievement driven by unity, resilience, commitment and the determination of the people to sustain continuity, good governance and development across Osun State.


In a statement issued through the Ajiìre L’Obokun Media Hub, the chairman commended party leaders, stakeholders, youths, women, community leaders and other supporters who contributed to the success of the election.


He said the outcome demonstrated the strength of grassroots mobilisation in Obokun, stressing that the victory should be regarded as a collective mandate rather than the triumph of a particular individual or political group.


According to him, the renewed mandate given to Governor Adeleke provides an opportunity for the administration to consolidate its achievements and pursue more impactful development initiatives across Obokun and the state.


“The people have spoken, the mandate has been renewed, and there is no shaking,” Agboola said, while urging residents to sustain the spirit of unity and cooperation beyond the election.


The council chairman also called on stakeholders and residents across Obokun to put political differences aside and work collectively towards the development of the local government.


He expressed confidence that the renewed administration would deliver greater dividends of democracy and improve the wellbeing of residents.


Agboola further prayed for God’s continued blessings upon the people of Obokun, asking for divine wisdom, strength and good health for Governor Adeleke as he begins another term in office.


“This is our victory, this is our collective mandate, and this is a new chapter of greater possibilities. No shaking—forward ever, backward never,” he declared.

Accord Shocks APC, Wins Omisore’s Polling Unit in Osun Governorship Election

  By Abdulahi Musa  The Accord Party has won the governorship election at the polling unit of former Osun Deputy Governor and ex-National Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Senator Iyiola Omisore. Results uploaded to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) Result Viewing Portal (IReV) showed that Accord secured 131 votes at Polling Unit 003, Ife Ward 1 (Moore), St. Gabriel Primary School, in Ife East Local Government Area. The APC placed second with 85 votes, while the African Democratic Congress (ADC) polled 10 votes. Other political parties recorded only a few votes at the polling unit. The development marks another early gain for Accord as the collation of results from polling units across Osun State continues.
