Osun 2026: Adeleke’s Accord Wins Oriade, APC Takes Obokun as Wole Oke Loses Constituency

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has officially declared the results of the 2026 Osun State governorship election for Oriade and Obokun Local Government Areas, with Governor Ademola Adeleke’s Accord Party recording a decisive victory in Oriade, while the All Progressives Congress (APC) emerged victorious in Obokun.


In Oriade Local Government Area, Accord polled 21,343 votes to defeat the APC, which secured 14,863 votes. The African Democratic Congress (ADC) recorded 423 votes.


The result further strengthened Accord’s performance in the Ijesa axis and boosted Governor Adeleke’s overall position in the governorship contest.


However, the APC secured victory in Obokun Local Government Area, polling 16,120 votes against Accord’s 12,023 votes, while the ADC garnered 205 votes.


Despite the APC’s victory in Obokun, the result carries significant political implications for the constituency, particularly for Hon. Wole Oke, the APC federal lawmaker representing the Obokun/Oriade Federal Constituency, as Accord emerged ahead of the APC in the combined constituency results.


The development is already being viewed by political analysts as an indication of the growing strength of Accord in the constituency ahead of the 2027 general election, where Wole Oke is expected to face a potential challenge from Barrister Pelumi Olajegbensi, an Accord chieftain and prominent political figure in the constituency.


The outcome of the 2026 governorship election in the two local governments could therefore shape the political calculations and alliances ahead of the 2027 battle for the Obokun/Oriade Federal Constituency.


With the results now officially declared, attention is expected to shift towards how the voting pattern will influence the political contest between the APC and Accord in the constituency.

Accord Shocks APC, Wins Omisore’s Polling Unit in Osun Governorship Election

  By Abdulahi Musa  The Accord Party has won the governorship election at the polling unit of former Osun Deputy Governor and ex-National Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Senator Iyiola Omisore. Results uploaded to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) Result Viewing Portal (IReV) showed that Accord secured 131 votes at Polling Unit 003, Ife Ward 1 (Moore), St. Gabriel Primary School, in Ife East Local Government Area. The APC placed second with 85 votes, while the African Democratic Congress (ADC) polled 10 votes. Other political parties recorded only a few votes at the polling unit.
