Osun 2026: APC Fabricating Allegations Because It Faces a Popular Incumbent — Olajengbesi

The spokesman of the Imole Campaign Council and ACCORD's prospective House of Representatives candidate for Obokun/Oriade Federal Constituency in the 2027 general election, Pelumi Olajengbesi, has accused the All Progressives Congress (APC) of manufacturing allegations against Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, to create the impression that it remains a strong contender ahead of the August 15 governorship election.


Speaking during a morning programme on Western Spring Television on Tuesday, Olajengbesi said the opposition party had resorted to what he described as false narratives because it was contesting against "a super-popular candidate" who enjoys overwhelming support from the people of Osun State.


According to him, Governor Adeleke's widespread acceptance across the state has unsettled the APC, prompting the party to fabricate allegations in an attempt to influence public perception before the election.


"The APC is contesting against a super-popular candidate who enjoys the massive support of the people. That is why it must fabricate a lot of things to create the impression that it is a serious contender in the election," he said.


Olajengbesi also dismissed attempts to associate the governor with violence or criminality, insisting that those who know Adeleke personally are aware of his commitment to peace and democratic values.


"Those who are very close to Governor Ademola Adeleke know that he has absolute disdain for violence and criminality," he stated.


The Imole Campaign Council spokesman maintained that the governor's campaign remains focused on presenting its achievements and engaging voters across the state, expressing confidence that the people of Osun would reward Adeleke with another term in office during the forthcoming governorship election.

Accord Shocks APC, Wins Omisore’s Polling Unit in Osun Governorship Election

  By Abdulahi Musa  The Accord Party has won the governorship election at the polling unit of former Osun Deputy Governor and ex-National Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Senator Iyiola Omisore. Results uploaded to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) Result Viewing Portal (IReV) showed that Accord secured 131 votes at Polling Unit 003, Ife Ward 1 (Moore), St. Gabriel Primary School, in Ife East Local Government Area. The APC placed second with 85 votes, while the African Democratic Congress (ADC) polled 10 votes. Other political parties recorded only a few votes at the polling unit.
