Otan-Ile Monarch Congratulates Adeleke on Re-election, Backs Renewed Push for Osun Development

Owa Afole of Otan-Ile, Oba Michael Tolulope Aderogba Adetona Adeyanju II, has congratulated Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, on his re-election in the August 15 governorship election.


The monarch, in a congratulatory letter addressed to the governor on behalf of the palace and the people of Otan-Ile, described Adeleke’s victory as a reflection of the confidence, trust and renewed mandate bestowed on his administration by the people of the state.


Oba Adeyanju said the governor’s re-election represented not only a victory at the polls but also an opportunity to consolidate the achievements of his first term and advance development, peace, prosperity and the wellbeing of Osun residents.


The traditional ruler commended Adeleke’s commitment to inclusive governance, grassroots development and people-centred leadership, expressing confidence that the governor’s second term would usher in greater progress across the state.


“As you commence another chapter of service, we pray that Almighty God continues to grant Your Excellency wisdom, strength, sound health, and divine guidance to lead our people with courage, fairness, and distinction,” the monarch said.


Oba Adeyanju also prayed for continued peace and success under Adeleke’s leadership, expressing hope that the governor’s administration would further improve the fortunes of Osun State.


The Owa Afole reiterated the support of the Otan-Ile traditional institution and its people for initiatives aimed at promoting sustainable development, unity and prosperity across the state.


He again congratulated Adeleke on what he described as his “historic victory and renewed mandate,” while wishing the governor a successful second term in office.

Accord Shocks APC, Wins Omisore’s Polling Unit in Osun Governorship Election

  By Abdulahi Musa  The Accord Party has won the governorship election at the polling unit of former Osun Deputy Governor and ex-National Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Senator Iyiola Omisore. Results uploaded to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) Result Viewing Portal (IReV) showed that Accord secured 131 votes at Polling Unit 003, Ife Ward 1 (Moore), St. Gabriel Primary School, in Ife East Local Government Area. The APC placed second with 85 votes, while the African Democratic Congress (ADC) polled 10 votes. Other political parties recorded only a few votes at the polling unit. The development marks another early gain for Accord as the collation of results from polling units across Osun State continues.
