2027: Olajengbesi Youth Group Begins Ward-by-Ward Mobilisation in Obokun/Oriade

The Pelumi Olajengbesi Youth Support Network (POYSN) has commenced grassroots mobilisation and consultations across the Obokun/Oriade Federal Constituency ahead of the 2027 House of Representatives election.


The group kicked off its mobilisation drive with an inaugural meeting attended by representatives from all 22 wards across Obokun and Oriade Local Government Areas.


The meeting, according to the network, marked the beginning of a structured ward-level engagement in support of the aspiration of a legal practitioner, Barrister Pelumi Olajengbesi, to represent the constituency in the House of Representatives.


POYSN said the meeting was aimed at strengthening its grassroots structure, coordinating ward activities and developing strategies for the next phase of its constituency-wide consultations.


The group said it would transition from its initial online mobilisation to physical engagements across the wards, with plans to interact with youths, students, community leaders and other stakeholders.


It said the consultations would provide an avenue to present Olajengbesi’s vision to constituents while also gathering their concerns, expectations and aspirations ahead of the election.


The network maintained that effective political representation should be built on sustained grassroots engagement and regular interaction between prospective representatives and the people.


POYSN also pledged to pursue a peaceful, issue-based and people-oriented campaign as it intensifies mobilisation ahead of the 2027 election.


The group said its activities would continue with ward-by-ward consultations and engagements across the federal constituency in the coming period.

Accord Shocks APC, Wins Omisore’s Polling Unit in Osun Governorship Election

  By Abdulahi Musa  The Accord Party has won the governorship election at the polling unit of former Osun Deputy Governor and ex-National Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Senator Iyiola Omisore. Results uploaded to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) Result Viewing Portal (IReV) showed that Accord secured 131 votes at Polling Unit 003, Ife Ward 1 (Moore), St. Gabriel Primary School, in Ife East Local Government Area. The APC placed second with 85 votes, while the African Democratic Congress (ADC) polled 10 votes. Other political parties recorded only a few votes at the polling unit.
