Adeleke Orders Arrest of Suspects Over Ajagungbade’s Killing

Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, has ordered the immediate arrest of all persons allegedly involved in the killing of Mr Ajagungbade, popularly known as Emir, following a reported dispute over leadership of a motor park.


The governor gave the directive on Sunday in response to the incident, directing the state Commissioner of Police to ensure that all those found culpable were apprehended and prosecuted.


Adeleke also ordered the immediate vacation of motor parks by rival groups involved in the dispute, while directing security agencies to restore peace and maintain law and order across the state.


The governor further announced the reintroduction of the Park Management System to regulate the activities of motor parks and garages in Osun.


According to him, an Executive Order would soon be issued to provide legal backing for the new management structure.


Adeleke said, “Law and order must be maintained. There will be no sacred cows as all culprits will be brought to book.”


He appealed to residents to remain calm, assuring them that security agencies had been directed to restore and sustain peace in affected parks and other areas.


“We are reintroducing the Park Management System. I will soon issue an executive order to give effect to the new management system to manage parks and garages across the state,” the governor added.

Accord Shocks APC, Wins Omisore’s Polling Unit in Osun Governorship Election

  By Abdulahi Musa  The Accord Party has won the governorship election at the polling unit of former Osun Deputy Governor and ex-National Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Senator Iyiola Omisore. Results uploaded to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) Result Viewing Portal (IReV) showed that Accord secured 131 votes at Polling Unit 003, Ife Ward 1 (Moore), St. Gabriel Primary School, in Ife East Local Government Area. The APC placed second with 85 votes, while the African Democratic Congress (ADC) polled 10 votes. Other political parties recorded only a few votes at the polling unit.
