Osun Govt, Unofficial Aides Set September 19 for Osogbo Clean-Up

The Osun State Government, in collaboration with the Unofficial Aides to Gov Ademola Adeleke Movement, is set to hold an Osun Clean-Up Day exercise in Osogbo, the state capital.


The environmental sanitation exercise is scheduled for Saturday, September 19, 2026, at 6:30am, as part of efforts to promote environmental cleanliness and encourage residents to take collective responsibility for a cleaner Osun.


The programme is being organised by the Office of the Director-General and Special Envoy of the Governor of Osun State on Climate Change and Renewable Energy, alongside the Unofficial Aides Movement.


The exercise will commence at Aiyegbaju Market, Ogo-Oluwa, opposite Fingerlicking, where participants are expected to engage in cleaning activities and proper waste collection.


The organisers urged residents and volunteers to participate actively in the exercise, stressing the importance of community involvement in maintaining a clean and healthy environment.

Accord Shocks APC, Wins Omisore’s Polling Unit in Osun Governorship Election

  By Abdulahi Musa  The Accord Party has won the governorship election at the polling unit of former Osun Deputy Governor and ex-National Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Senator Iyiola Omisore. Results uploaded to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) Result Viewing Portal (IReV) showed that Accord secured 131 votes at Polling Unit 003, Ife Ward 1 (Moore), St. Gabriel Primary School, in Ife East Local Government Area. The APC placed second with 85 votes, while the African Democratic Congress (ADC) polled 10 votes. Other political parties recorded only a few votes at the polling unit. The development marks another early gain for Accord as the collation of results from polling units across Osun State continues.
