Olukoyede also condemned vote-buying and other forms of financial inducement, noting that the commercialization of the electoral process weakens democracy by compromising the quality of leadership recruitment. He stressed that politicians who spend heavily to gain office are more likely to prioritize recovering their expenditures rather than serving the public interest.

He further warned that impunity in the electoral process could undermine national stability and democratic institutions.

He also urged political parties and their supporters to embrace issue-based campaigns and avoid inflammatory rhetoric capable of inciting violence.
