“No One Can Stop My Movement in Nigeria” — Gumi Speaks Ahead of Ibadan Visit

By Abdulahi Ishola

Islamic cleric, Sheikh Ahmad Gumi, has reacted to concerns surrounding his planned visit to Ibadan, stating that no individual or authority has the power to restrict his movement within Nigeria.

Gumi maintained that as a Nigerian citizen, he enjoys the constitutional right to move freely across any part of the country, stressing that such rights cannot be arbitrarily denied.

The cleric’s comment comes amid public debate and reactions over his planned trip, with differing opinions on whether his presence could generate tension or security concerns in the city.

He, however, insisted that freedom of movement is guaranteed under the Nigerian Constitution and should be respected by all stakeholders.

The development has continued to spark discussions on security, free movement, and public order in different parts of the country.
